Active Internet Connections

by on August 2, 2005

Netstat is a Windows XP command that lists active Internet connections, such as browsers and instant messengers. To run it, click Start/Run and type “command.” When the command window opens, type “netstat.” TCPView is freeware tool that shows similar information, but with better formatting. Both of these tools can be useful in discovering applications (or spyware) communicating over the Internet without your knowledge. Leo Notenboom has more details at Ask-Leo.com.
