Keyword Search

by on July 17, 2002

After you’ve mastered the basics of entering keywords into search engines, the next step in refining your skills is adding the math operators “+” and “-” to your repertoire. The plus symbol in front of a search term means the results must always include that keyword. The minus is used for words you never want to appear. For example use “+rockets -houston” to search for rockets that do not play basketball; and “+rockets +models” to search for information on model rockets.
