Google has officially launched Google Desktop Search for Windows. It is a free download, and easy to install. After it has indexed your computer (which it does in the background, whenever your system is idle) it provides a desktop search tool to find keywords in email, documents, spreadsheets, PDF files, audio files, images and videos. It will become even more powerful as programmers create plug-ins that will allow Google Desktop to search additional file types.
